The Story Behind Siempre Running

Hi, I’m Russel – founder of Siempre Running.

I work primarily with runners who’ve already taken their first big steps into the sport – maybe you’ve run your first marathon, half marathon, or major event – and are now asking a different question:

How good can I really become if I do this properly?

I didn’t arrive at running as a natural talent or lifelong racer. My own journey started later (during the COVID lockdown), with frustration, curiosity, and a determination to improve through consistency rather than shortcuts. Early on, progress came slowly – but by focusing on sound fundamentals, learning relentlessly, and respecting my body, I moved from struggling to complete 5k to running multiple sub-3-hour marathons (10 at the last count).

More importantly, I learned how sustainable performance is built.

That philosophy now underpins everything I do as a coach.

I’m a UK Athletics qualified Coach in Running Fitness, with further specialisation through the Event Group Endurance pathway. My coaching is rooted in the belief that wellbeing comes first – physically and mentally – because it is the foundation upon which all meaningful performance is built. Without that foundation, progress is short-lived.

At Siempre Running, I help runners:

  • Transition from simply completing events to training with intent

  • Improve performance without sacrificing health or enjoyment

  • Understand the why behind their training, not just the sessions

  • Build resilience, confidence, and long-term consistency

Alongside coaching, I am also a qualified Sports Massage Therapist. This allows me to support runners through preventative maintenance and injury rehabilitation, helping them stay healthy and train consistently. Sports massage is offered as a standalone, in-person service, while coaching can be delivered remotely – giving runners flexibility without compromising on care.

My aim isn’t to create dependency, but to empower runners with the knowledge, structure, and confidence to take ownership of their development – knowing they have expert support when they need it.

If you’re ready to move beyond simply ticking off distances and want to explore your potential in a sustainable, intelligent way, I’d love to help guide the next stage of your journey.
